Team of the Lötschenpass Hut
Your hosts at 2690 meters
The summer season is just around the corner, and we're excited to welcome Monika and Jelena to our team, which already includes Flavia, Andrea, and Beat. Many dear friends and acquaintances help us on weekends.
Together, we dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly, passionately, and joyfully to ensuring you have an unforgettable stay in our paradise.

Alpine Zoo
Köbi und Lisi
Pot-bellied pigs
are thriving in their tenth summer at the Lötschenpass and are exploring the area around the hut. Even visits from ibex don't faze them. The pigs spend the winter on a farm in the Emmental region, where they can roam freely.
Nala
Avalanche, Glacier, and Terrain Search Dog
Nala completes our little Alpine menagerie. As an avalanche, glacier, and search and rescue dog, her stamina and work ethic are invaluable. She also makes a fine watchdog, loudly announcing the arrival of guests, especially in spring and autumn. However, she's not so keen on being cuddly and decides for herself who she wants to be petted by. She is grateful if our guests respect this.
Chickens
A dozen chickens also spend the summer at the Lötschen Pass. They naturally break down the compost and provide us with eggs for baking and cooking. Although foxes are regularly spotted near the chalet, they have fortunately left our free-range chickens alone so far. Unfortunately, we sometimes find dead chickens that have been chased by our guests’ dogs, which are not kept on a leash.
We kindly ask our guests with dogs to keep them under control or on a leash around the cabin, as our chickens have free range!
Please do not feed the animals around the cabin under any circumstances, even if they beg pitifully! All our animals receive sufficient, balanced food.
