Here’s how to get to the starting points for the climb to the Lötschenpass Hut

Kandersteg and the villages in the Lötschental valley are easily accessible by train and bus via Bern and Brig.

The Wiler-Lauchernalp cable car provides convenient access to the shortest mountain hut trails in both summer and winter.
In summer, a private bus service runs from Kandersteg train station to Selden in the Gasterntal valley. Reservations are required! Click here for the timetable .

The trailheads can also be reached by car from Bern and Brig.
Parking is available in Wiler at the cable car station, in the parking garage in Ferden, and in Kandersteg at the train station or at the municipal parking lot in the village center.
The dirt road to Kummenalp requires a permit and is only open in summer.
The road to Selden also requires a permit. Tickets can be purchased from a machine at the entrance to the Gasterntal valley.
Please note: there is a timed one-way traffic system in the gorge! Parking is very limited in Selden.
